As a corporate 9-5 worker in the heart of New York City, mornings are my sacred time to set the tone for the day. Since filming my routine, I’ve taken it up a notch and now wake up at 5:30 AM every weekday. It’s been a game-changer! I’ve always been an early riser—probably because I started swim practice at 10, and it’s a habit I’ve kept ever since. Plus, with a name like Dawn, I guess I’m just living up to it!
For those of you trying to embrace early mornings, my advice is to start small. Push yourself to go to bed earlier and wake up earlier, but don’t try to do it all at once. Begin by setting a goal to do it three days in a row, then five, a week, two weeks, and so on. Turn it into a fun challenge with your friends—text each other in the mornings for some extra motivation!
Building healthy habits takes time, but they truly are the foundation of our lives. These small, consistent steps shape who we are and how we show up in the world. So, walk the talk and start creating the life you want to live.
